Volunteers of America is a non-profit organization who’s primary focus is helping elderly, handicapped and homeless people. At any one time as many as 80,000 people are provided housing in one of the organizations facilities nation wide. Due to the transient nature of these people, furniture had to be replaced every 6 months on average.

The decision was made to test the use of Kloppenberg’s commercial furniture line in 2 rooms of one especially busy 47 room location. After the 18 month trial the Kloppenberg furniture was virtually unscathed, and the other 45 rooms were also equipped with the commercial furniture line.
